Gandhi's Walk Today is Possible!

The song spoke a truth
as the words rang out
Gandhi Walks Again
sang John Denver in 19 and 84
as Kothari Gandhi, Roy and I
walked and sang
across America, light or rain
hot or cold we walked and walked
to open eyes hearts and minds that
The Impossible is Possible
and can be, it’s all imagination
make it up to Be!

Individual responsibility
in our time
truth and justice in off the line.
Walking the talk, listening within
to know where to step
when crossing the whole
LA to DC and thru NY
on to the steps of the Capital
our goal, of course.
Like Mr. Smith goes forth
telling the local folks
live at five
as they filmed our feet
Niki’s shoes and suits
walking into the local hangout
show the Gandhi documentary
and pass the hat for gas
for pizza, for the crew
once in awhile.

Miso, brown rice and seaweed
a daily brew
as brown rice sustained us
pure water to drink
and a small pebble in our cheek
to keep the moisture
within our mouths
as many joined and marched forth
we gave out Salt.

In answer to a question
asked a long time ago
how can a movement
mobilize itself globally
locally when all its heads
are chopped off before
enough was said, done and shown
to weave a new way
not before known?

The Impossible is Possible
and I’m here to say
Yes, Gandhi marchers walked
in the U S of A.
For in each and every one is a key
to a head less movement
once brought to its knees.

Connect in your heart
and trip on a light
to serendipity and magic
and a whole way seen
known and done in each and every day
what a King or Gandhi
would do today!
